Professional artist and art educator, working out of a studio in southwest London. Delivering individually-tailored art education across a variety of venues.
The Practice
Humble’s practice spans over four decades. It has incorporated various forms of making during that time, but has always been centrally focused on drawing and painting. The work deals with a variety of subject matter and is concerned with visual storytelling and the possibilities of art as a means of communication and exchange.
Teaching
Humble’s practice is augmented by teaching, as a freelance educator in Fine Art studio practice, Contemporary Art History, and Cultural Theory. Interest lies in the ongoing delivery of ‘art school’ type content, outside of the institution of ‘The Art School’ itself, and in keeping with the philosophies of continuing and accessible education.
Practical and theoretical tuition can be accessed on a one-to-one or group basis, via online tutorial, group residential at a variety of venues, studio/home visit, or at the artist’s studio in southwest London.
